A good amount of things to talk about in this weeks episode of What’s Up Wednesday, our series where we go over what’s going on in the firearms world. A new bill proposed out of NY seeks to have everyone obtain an “Assault Weapon” license that would require checks, fingerprints and training. Sig Sauger making the news with a new contract and the new Spear LT, which looks pretty awesome. Just as important, Visa responds to recent Gun Shop credit card merchant codes, well done Visa.
Check out Garand Thumb’s video on the new Sig Sauer Spear LT, I know I can’t wait to get mine.

Up until about a year ago, I exclusively used a Derlin action block much like the one seen here. Derlin blocks are useful but introduce other issues such as setup time, lining up pins, torque flex, etc. I often found the need to apply more than mil-spec torque to the barrel nut when installing a barrel and could visually see the upper flexing. It made be cringe but I didn’t know of any other option.
