What does a optic maker do when they earn a worldwide reputation for tough as nails glass? They make bigger glass.
Enter the Nightforce TS-82 20-70x Spotting Scope, just released last week at the NRA Annual Meeting.
We don’t need to talk about the reputation Nightforce has in the world of rifle optics. Their reputation says plenty. But with their first spotting scope, they’re hoping to exceed the expectations of everyone.
The waterproof aluminum body has not only been shock tested, they say its proven for thermal stability. But, Nightforce isn’t just known for their ruggedness. They also have a reputation for crystal clear glass.
The TS-82 has a giant 82mm objective lens made with APO Fluorite glass. This is the same type of glass Canon uses in its high end telephoto lenses to cut down on chromatic aberration. Combine this with an internal prism that is designed for maximum light transmission, and the TS-82 should render a tack sharp image. As long as atmospheric conditions cooperate, a user should be able to spot 30 caliber holes from a long way out.
With an MSRP of around $2600, its priced below some of its best competition. If you’re in the market for high performance range glass, this is one to look at.
