Kimber Releases New 1911 RAPIDE, R7 Mako, and Limited-Edition Micro 9
TROY, AL, May 6, 2022 — Kimber Mfg. is expanding the popular family of RAPIDE (Dawn) and RAPIDE (Scorpius) Custom 1911 pistols, as well as the groundbreaking R7 Mako™. Kimber is also creating a unique offering of the popular Micro 9 Raptor, called the Micro 9 Raptor (Shadow).
The new RAPIDE (Dawn) and RAPIDE (Scorpius) are now available in .45 ACP and 10mm in addition to the 9mm variants originally released. Build quality and specifications for these extensions will match other RAPIDE 1911 models: stainless-steel slides with stepped cocking serrations and slide lightening cuts; 5-inch, stainless-steel match-grade barrels and Kimber’s proprietary Stiplex™ textured front strap. Both models retain the same finishes as their respective predecessors, and include G-10 grips, TruGlo TFX Pro Day/Night sights, and ship with one (1) 8-round magazine. MSRP: $1,733 (10mm RAPIDE Dawn/Scorpius); $1,713 (.45 ACP RAPIDE Dawn/Scorpius).
The award-winning R7 Mako™ changed the face of the concealed carry market, and it is now available for residents in states with magazine-capacity restrictions. Both Optics Ready (OR) and Optics Installed (OI) configurations will ship with the new 10-round R7 Mako™ magazines. These magazines will also be available for purchase on kimberamerica.com, as well as through all Kimber dealers featuring either a flush-fit base or a finger extension. MSRP: $34.99
The Micro 9 Raptor (Shadow) is released as an exclusive offering in celebration of the return to the NRA annual meetings. The limited edition is available from May 1st thru August 31st. The Micro 9 Raptor (Shadow) features our Black KimPro II™ finish on a stainless-steel slide and aluminum frame. Combined with black micarta grips, the new Raptor is built to the same dimensions as the Micro 9 Raptor (Stainless) and features the new Micro 9 Tac-Mag™ with 7+1 capacity. The stainless-steel, match-grade barrel sports a durable DLC finish, and Meprolight night sights deliver quick acquisition on target, with superior visibility.
