While we slept, Magpul dropped two new Featured Builds. Magpul builds are company projects that integrate Magpul products into popular firearm platforms, many of them mirroring the spirit that UN12 aims to celebrate.
The first is a rifle, pictured at top, is based on a platform used in the British special forces—we might call it a celebration of the Clone Life with a distinct Magpul flair:
“Magpul’s first International Featured Build is a Knight’s Armament KS-1 chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 13.7-inch (35cm) barrel and KAC 5.56mm MCQ-1 with heat shield. This rifle is built to the exact specifications of the British Royal Marines Commandos & Ranger Regiment, and outfitted with hard-use Magpul accessories, advanced optics, and ambidextrous controls. The United Kingdom MoD selected the KS-1 (designated as the L403A1) as their Alternative Individual Weapon for their Ranger Regiment and Royal Marines Commandos.”
As noted, the MoD rifle features a range of Magpul special equipment, including the MOE CTR carbine stock, MIAD Gen1.1 grip kit with adjustable backstrap modules, Magpul MBUS polymer “iron” sights, and an MS4 Gen2 sling.

The second build—one we really slept on—is something that might have come direct from the pages of UN12. It’s something we ourselves might put together: a short-barrel, folding AR based on an Aero Precision home build and chambered in .300 BLK:
“…An Aero Precision AR-15 in .300 Blackout with a nine-inch barrel and Aero Lahar-30L Suppressor. This short-barreled rifle is kitted out with a variety of reliable Magpul accessories, practical home defense optics, and a neatly tucked suppressor. Designed for things that go bump in the night, this SBR provides superior firepower and maneuverability, with manageable noise levels in stressful situations.”
Magpul accessories are again found throughout, including an MOE SL carbine stock, MOE K2-XL pistol grip, BAD lever, and an MVG vertical foregrip.
The SBR is also equipped with a SIG Romeo5 red dot mounted on a head-up Reptilia platform, a Streamlight ProTac light for low-vis engagements, and the aforementioned Lahar .30-cal suppressor from Aero Precision.
Another practical addition that tailors it to defensive situations is the Law Tactical Gen-S folding stock adapter, a solution that works with direct-impingement rifles and carbines equipped with a standard buffer tube and BCG and features simple one-button operation to enable ease of storage and transport.
Visit the link below to Magpul Comms to view the builds, check out the individual Magpul additions and accessories, and comment and ask questions. Be sure to tell them UN12 sent you.
