Designed with the top-level Precision Rifle Series and National Rifle League competitors in mind, the new Matrix Pro Chassis has evolved to meet the demands of the precision long-range market.

Comer, Ga. (January 2022) – MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturer of precision Pistol, BA Rifles and Chassis Systems, is proud to unveil the next generation of the most revolutionary chassis ever produced, the MPA Matrix Professional Chassis. It was designed with the top-level Precision Rifle Series (PRS) and National Rifle League (NRL) competitors in mind. With a multitude of configurations in grips, thumb rests, and trigger finger supports, the primary interface between the shooter and the rifle (the grip) has over 100 different variations. The location of the shooter’s hand, closer to the bore of the rifle, provides even more variety on how the shooter can set up the chassis. “Over the past several years, the competitive landscape of precision long-range shooting has changed dramatically. MasterPiece Arms has always been committed to developing new technology to give the shooter a better opportunity to hit more targets. Since 2015, our MPA Chassis have been the number one chassis in the PRS, and 2021 was an especially good year,” commented Phil Cashin, President of MasterPiece Arms.
He continued, “however, the shooting market continues to change and become more complex and difficult and so the equipment must continue to evolve to meet these demands. No other company within this long-range competitive market has continued to lead with new technology as much as we have at MPA. So, with that said, we are proud to present the Matrix Professional Chassis, our continued commitment to this endeavor.”
The Matrix Pro Chassis features integrated comp side rails that provide an incredibly stable platform when shooting in an improvised position using a bag for primary support. The fully machined profile of the forend provides 60 percent more stiffness than the first-gen Matrix or ESR chassis. It is simply the most rigid forend ever created for PRS/NRL style shooting. The extended forend is also two inches longer than on the first-gen Matrix. The exit point on the Matrix Pro RAT RAIL (Arca Rail technology that MPA invented in 2015), now offers a simple exit point for removing a bipod during a stage. Simply slide the bipod off the front of the chassis.
The Matrix Pro Chassis offers each shooter a series of unique plates that are mounted in front of the magwell which accomplishes a series of different benefits. These plates protect the magazine during positional use, enhance stability for shooting positional with a rear bag, and give the shooter multiple options to suit his or her specific shooting style and technique. There are currently four interchangeable plates available.
Not only does the Matrix Pro Chassis utilize a unique internal and external weight tuning system, but the chassis design itself has also been redesigned, including a larger hole in the buttstock, while the buttstock itself is thinner, to shift weight from the buttstock to the chassis forend. A thin profile cheek riser allows the shooter’s head to get more into the rifle. This further enhances the ability for each shooter to fine-tune their balance point based on his or her specific rifle configuration and desired center balance location and gives the Pro an exceptional level of weight balancing options.
The Quick Release Bag Rider offers an adjustment to the height of the rear bag rider with a simple press of a button. This unique system provides extreme levels of flexibility for the shooter when engaging targets at a variety of elevations or if the shooting platform requires changes to the rear bag height. If a shooter has ever tried to shoot a stage with the bag sitting vertical, that shooter knows it is not very stable. With the Matrix Pro Chassis, the shooter just needs to push a button and the bag can now be compressed properly by the new position of the bag rider.
Barrels are getting bigger. The Matrix Pro Chassis can handle large straight profiles with its new 1.350 channel diameter without modifying the chassis.
MPA has developed a hand measurement chart to help identify which grip configuration may work best for each individual shooter. The MPA Matrix Pro Chassis features six different grip options (three swept and three vertical), three different thumb rest designs, and four different trigger finger support options. It also has M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom of the chassis forend, an enhanced buttstock design with butt hook, and comes with a standard or enhanced night vision bridge. The Matrix Pro Chassis will come equipped with the steel version of the V4 Spigot Mount out front, providing both rigidity and additional weight for weight balance.
The MPA Matrix Pro Chassis is machined on MPA’s CNC Horizontal Machining Centers to exacting tolerances from 6061 aluminum. The MPA-produced buttstock comes with an adjustable cheek riser and length of pull, recoil pad with height and cant adjustment, and adjustable cheek riser. The v-bedding system provides additional clearance for glass bedding action and straight section of the barrel if desired.
MPA Matrix Professional Chassis Specifications:
The MPA Matrix Pro Chassis is available in eight standard Cerakote® colors, including Graphite Black, Flat Dark Earth, Burnt Bronze, Tungsten, Gunmetal, Sniper Green, NRA Blue, and USMC Red. Custom Cerakote colors are an additional $135 for a solid color from any of Cerakote’s H Series. Special patterns are also available for an additional upcharge.
