Melville, NY (July 2019) – Twenty-three years after the debut of the original MONARCH riflescope, Nikon unveils an all-new line of long-range optics designed specifically for discerning sportsmen and women. For 2019 and beyond, MONARCH M5 becomes the new patriarch of the Nikon riflescope family.
Engineered from the inside out to check all the boxes on the long-range riflescope wish list, MONARCH M5 illustrates Nikon’s Optics First principle as it pertains to the development of its optics. The highly efficient, 4x zoom optical system in the MONARCH M5 was created with the explicit goal of delivering a brighter, sharper, higher contrast sight picture for the times it’s vitally needed—just as the first hint of light appears, or the last vestiges disappear into the darkness.
The MONARCH M5’s rugged and robust 30mm aircraft-grade aluminum main body tube not only protects the riflescope’s optical system—but also increases its internal adjustment range. (Beginning in 2019, all Nikon riflescopes bearing the MONARCH name will utilize the 30mm tube platform.)

Reticle choices for the MONARCH M5 line have expanded to include Nikon’s MK1-MOA hash mark reticle—meaning long-range dialers will be able to make use of the increased elevation adjustment travel. Nikon’s BDC and Nikoplex reticles are also available in models throughout the line and can each be optimized with Nikon’s Spot On Ballistic Match Technology.

MONARCH M5 riflescopes feature ¼ MOA turrets with crisp movements that track precisely and consistently—the spring-loaded, instant zero-reset adjustments make zeroing and field adjustments simple. These spring-loaded windage and elevation turrets can be instantly reset to “zero” after sighting-in for easy reference and in-the-field adjustment.
Low profile turret caps, side-focus parallax adjustment, zoom ring and quick-focus eyepiece are ergonomically shaped from aluminum to enhance the MONARCH M5’s sleek, modern silhouette. The quick-focus eyepiece helps users customize the reticle focus to their personal preference, while the side-focus parallax adjustment secures precise focusing under various conditions, minimizing parallax at infinite distances.

The complete MONARCH M5 line is finished in durable matte black anodizing. As with all Nikon riflescopes, the MONARCH M5 is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof.

During my military service as a Special Warfare Combat Crewman (SWCC), I spent the majority of my time on the water. I was a Rigid Hull, Inflatable Boat (RHIB) guy, meaning our high-speed boats were completely exposed to the elements. Salt water, sun exposure, hale, sandstorms and wind all ripped at our gear. Imagine travailing at high speeds, in the open ocean, in inclement weather while completely exposed. Think sand blaster.
