Houston, Texas – February 21, 2022 – U.S. LawShield®, industry leader and America’s largest provider of Legal Defense for Self Defense® coverage, is holding a live YouTube event on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 11 AM CT titled “Crucial Brandishing Mistakes to Avoid.”
According to U.S. LawShield CEO P.J. Hermosa, “Responsible gun owners don’t always understand the difference between illegal brandishing and legally displaying your gun in self-defense. That’s why it will be important for folks to join our livestream as our Independent Program Attorneys break down this common misconception plaguing gun owners and explain exactly what conditions determine brandishing.”
U.S. LawShield Independent Program Attorneys Richard Hayes and Emily Taylor will explain that while letting an attacker know you have a firearm may be enough to save you in a life-threatening situation, displaying your gun under the wrong conditions can lead to severe criminal charges. “When it comes to displaying a firearm or deadly weapon in self-defense, there’s a fine line between what’s justified and what’s considered criminal,” said Hermosa.
Tune in to discover why brandishing is one of the easiest mistakes for a gun owner to make and how simply drawing a firearm can result in a criminal history. Details covered in the livestream will answer questions such as: What does brandishing mean? Is open carry brandishing? Is brandishing a weapon a felony? Can you brandish a firearm in self-defense?
