Guns and Tactics Magazine heads to the high deserts of central Oregon for the world’s only midnight 3-gun competition: the Crimson Trace Midnight 3-Gun Invitational.
The tactical life is alive and well in the Pacific Northwest as we head to central Oregon for the 2nd Annual Midnight 3-Gun Invitational hosted by Crimson Trace. The growing sport of 3-gun competitive shooting challenges competitors as is, but it’s certainly taken to a new level when experienced in the darkness of night in the high desert just outside of the city of Bend, already known for its strong culture of eco-adventure sports and access to the outdoors lifestyle. With high temperatures during the day and low temperatures at night, competitors and spectators alike are sure to leave this one-of-a-kind event with an experience to remember.
The first M3GI held last year proved to be a great success thanks to the tireless efforts of Crimson Trace staff and while the schedule has been a bit modified this year by eliminating media activities in Portland, the nighttime high-speed competition should prove to bring just as many thrills as we experienced last year, if not more. As with M3GI 2013, the Central Oregon Shooting Sports Association (COSSA) range will again provide the location for the competition while lodging and scheduled events are offered at the Mr. Bachelor Village Resort.
We’re looking forward to seeing many of last year’s vendors again this year including Danner, Leatherman, FLIR, Otis Technology, Nosler, Colt Competition, Leupold, FNH and others. (Spoiler Alert: we’ll be on the look-out for an exciting appearance by RP Advanced Mobile Systems as well.) A high media turnout is expected with a particularly significant amount of television coverage including crews from the Outdoor Channel, NRATV, Shooting USA, The National Shooting Sports Foundation, North American hunter, Gun Talk TV and Rocky Mountain TV. This notable roster of manufacturers, sponsors and other participants along with a solid showing of web and print media are sure to provide for a first class experience, and will only continue to grow each year as Crimson Trace brings the same passion and excellence to hosting the event as it does to creating its products.
