Toor Knives Bateman T: They Call It Obsessive Engineering

We’ve featured a few Toor Knives fixed blades to date, including the Barrow here online and the Vandal in the pages of UN12 Issue 26. Now we bring you the newest addition to Toor’s line of premium folding knives: the Bateman T.

Now, we aren’t saying the name was inspired by one Patrick Bateman, but Toor Knives describes this knife as the product of “an unhealthy obession with better engineering.” Make of that what you will.

To the point, the Bateman T is a refinement of the original Bateman design and a product of Toor Knives’ new TwinFrame construction philosophy. TwinFrame is a proprietary Toor system with an innovative two-piece structure offered to introduce fewer moving parts and increase strength and rigidity while minimizing weight, as well as minimizing necessary hardware and potential failure points.

Unlike traditional three-piece folder construction, which often relies on multiple frame components and additional fastening points, TwinFrame approaches the problem more effeciently by reducing the number of core components. The result is a cleaner, lighter folding platform that offers improved durability and long-term reliability.

Essentially, it’s a more refined method of construction with fewer things that can go wrong when the knife is put to work.

The Bateman T features a precision-machined 6061 aluminum frame, premium MagnaCut blade, titanium hardware and pocket clip, and a crossbar locking mechanism. Each of these components was chosen to deliver the ideal balance of strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and lightweight performance.

Of course, the slimmed-down, low-profile design makes the Bateman T suited to everyday carry, outdoor activities, professional applications, and demanding field environments.

The Bateman T’s refreshed appearance also introduces a distinct visual identity while maintaining uncompromising performance and meticulous attention to detail. These things are what the team at Toor Knives hang their hats on.

According to Toor Knives founder Connor Toor: “Our goal with TwinFrame was to challenge the way folding knives have traditionally been built. We wanted to eliminate unnecessary complexity, reduce weight, and create a stronger, more efficient platform.”

Like the rest of Toor’s knives, the Bateman T was designed and manufactured in San Diego, California. It’s currently offered in three colors—Onyx, Gold, and Cobalt. At the time of this posting, Cobalt was sold out, so be advised to jump on one of the other two while you still can.
