e love featuring Veteran owned companies here at Guns & Tactics. The Violent Little Machine Shop (VLMS) is owned by two Vets and is based out of Idaho at the foot of the Sawtooth Mountains in Ketchum. These guys are putting out some very unique products that have practical use such as their bottle opener as well as other items that would fall in the novelty category such as “tactical” jewelry. We will stick to the practical side today.
The VLMS Tactical Bottle Opener is the perfect device to breach those hard to open bottles and is a great conversation starter and a fun gift for any Vet or shooting enthusiast. It is made from Type III Class II Hardcoat anodized aluminum and features a CNC machined mil-spec picatinny rail. It comes in three colors, blue, green and black and has the VLMS logo laser engraved on the back side. In addition to the pic rail it has a hole in the rear end for securing to your master key retaining device.

Now, why in the heck would you want a picatinny rail on a bottle opener? For me, if it is late at night and I don’t want to disturb my family, I can mount my Surefire X300 to it and track down the perfect beverage in the cover of darkness. For an even stealthier approach, you can install your favorite IR illuminator for use with Night Vision Devices. The bottle will never see you coming. For more overt ops, I find that mounting my Aimpoint 3X magnifier in my Larue FTS mount allows me to scan the landscape to identify and engage a beverage of interest. I can then move quickly, flipping my magnifier out of the way for the close in dirty work of going hands on and de-capping the bottle. The nice thing is the bottle opener is made of aluminum so it won’t rust or stain when bottle-y fluids are exposed to it. This is especially important if you end up in a scuffle with the bottle and have to terminate it after a vigorous shake down. They have a tendency to bleed out everywhere, but fear not, the Tactical Bottle Opener will be up to the task. The best part, you will never leave home without it.
Stay Tactical my Friends.
The Tactical Bottle Opener sells for $19.95 and for every one sold a $1 is donated to the Navy SEAL Foundation.
