Let’s take a look at the guns and gear featured in the latest Marvel film, Guardians of the Galaxy.
This past weekend we had a chance to check out the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie, currently playing in theaters everywhere. We really enjoyed the movie and think you will, too. So in the spirit of all things guns and tactics, we thought we’d take a look at the guns of the movie and provide our readers with some motivation to go see this terrifically fun flick on 3D. Here’s what we dug up on things…
Star-Lord’s Helmet
Given to him by the Kree in Annihilation: Conquest – Star Lord #1, Peter Quill used the helmet as he led a strike team against an army of invading aliens. In addition to life support systems, Quill’s helmet features a universal translator and other very special strategy-enhancing programs.

In real life, actor Chris Pratt admits he is a bit of a gun nut and owns about 40 guns. However, it is reported that while he believes in gun ownership, he also believes ownership should be heavily regulated, supports background checks, and preventing guns from falling into the hands of the mentally ill.

Gamora’s Godslayer
Gamora received the sword from her adopted father, Thanos, and later lost it to him, too. But, not before adding to the sword’s legendary kill count and battling on Ronan the Accuser in Annihilation: Ronan #3.
Drax’s Daggers
Once a human warrior, after his makeover in Drax The Destroyer #4, he traded his purple cape for leather pants and a pair of knives from terrestrial origin. While Drax may have other, more exotic weapons, we don’t m=know much more about them at this time.
Rocket’s Laser Pistols
Rocket Racoon loves guns and always keeps at least two blasters handy at all times. He’s an unmatched marksman and seems to have a passion for building blasters and bombs, too! Check out Rocket’s bad-assery in Guardians of the Galaxy #2 where he takes out half a dozen bad guys before destroying a Badoon warship.

Groot’s Roots
The fact that he is impervious to pretty much any type of attack makes Groot a surprisingly efficient stealth weapon, as seen in Guardians of the Galaxy #3. He can extend his wooden appendages to overwhelming results in a fight, but best of all he can regrow himself from the tiniest sprig.
