CAMAS, Wash. – (September 11, 2020) – Kägwerks, a company developing a range of operator-designed, body-worn communications gear and systems, has announced the appointment of business executive Rick Campfield as CEO.
Campfield will be executing a multi-year plan that transitions the company from a contract end-user designer to a durable and specialized supplier of communications equipment. This includes building a diversified C-Corp business structure and leadership team, ramping production and development of emerging ITAR-compliant product platforms, and pursing additional applications for its innovations in law enforcement, emergency services and recreation.
“Rick Campfield brings the business-building expertise across relevant industrial and technology sectors to build upon the foundation of the organization as a premier provider of user-designed, tactical communications systems,” said Kägwerks founder Garett Schwindel.
Campfield brings more than 30 years of business-building experience primarily for industrial and technology companies, including Siemens, Johnson Controls, and Department of Defense service provider Evergreen Aviation. He has consulted numerous companies from startups to Fortune 500 divisions, and served as a coach for the Inc. affiliate CEO Project. Campfield has an M.B.A. from Willamette University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.
The company was formed by Garett Schwindel, an Army Ranger veteran with multiple deployments, who received a U.S. Department of Defense contract to develop a new generation of user-designed tactical gear. After stepping away for medical leave, Schwindel will continue focusing on skills training service and product innovation.
