Zeiss Conquest Apia Spotting Scopes—New Models Mean More Options

Zeiss is expanding its Conquest Apia spotting scope lineup with three new models, giving hunters and shooters more options when it comes to magnification, objective lens size, and eyepiece configuration. Building on the compact, performance-oriented design of the original Conquest Apia 65A, these new additions aim to offer greater versatility without stepping into the highest-priced optics category.

Introduced earlier this year, the Conquest Apia 65A was designed to bring Zeiss optical performance to a more accessible price point. Now, the company is broadening the lineup with the 65S, 85A and 85S, offering both straight and angled viewing configurations across two objective lens sizes.

For hunters who spend long hours glassing distant ridgelines, timber edges, and open terrain, the new Conquest Apia 65S offers a straight eyepiece configuration that can make transitioning between a spotting scope and riflescope more natural. The straight-through design also lends itself to use with vehicle window mounts and allows for a slimmer tripod foot, making the scope easier to pack and transport.

Like its angled counterpart, the 65S features a 65mm objective lens and a 20-50x magnification range, providing a balance of optical performance and portability for hunters who need to keep their equipment lightweight.

Those looking for additional magnification and improved low-light capability can turn to the new Conquest Apia 85 models. Featuring larger 85mm objective lenses and a 24-60x magnification range, these spotting scopes are designed to resolve finer details at extended distances while gathering more light during the early morning and late evening hours when game is often most active.

Both the 65mm and 85mm models are available in straight and angled configurations, allowing users to select the design that best suits their preferred glassing position and intended application.

Despite their relatively compact dimensions, the Conquest Apia spotting scopes incorporate a number of technologies found throughout Zeiss’s premium optics lineup.

The scopes feature Zeiss HD optical technology, T* lens coatings, and light transmission of up to 87 percent to deliver bright, detailed images. FieldFlattener technology helps maintain sharpness across the field of view, while the company’s LotuTec coating helps shed moisture and maintain visibility in wet conditions.

Large focus and magnification adjustment wheels are designed for easy operation, even when wearing gloves, while optimized weight distribution helps provide stability during extended glassing sessions.

The entire lineup is also compatible with Zeiss accessories, including the company’s magnetic digiscoping adapter system, Pro-Series tripod kits, and new stay-on protective cases. Specialized eyepieces featuring MOA or MRAD reticles will also be available for shooters who want to incorporate ranging and measurement capabilities into their spotting scope setup.

The Conquest Apia lineup includes four models, with pricing determined by objective lens size rather than eyepiece configuration:

Conquest Apia 65A (Angled)20-50x$1,499.99
Conquest Apia 65S (Straight)20-50x$1,499.99

The Conquest Apia 65S and 85A are scheduled to arrive at select retailers early this month, followed by the 85S, specialized reticle eyepieces, and new stay-on cases later in the month.

With the expanded Conquest Apia lineup, Zeiss offers hunters and shooters a wider selection of spotting scopes that balance optical performance, portability, and price, whether the priority is covering miles in the backcountry or picking out fine details at extended distances.
