For anyone who has followed the company or the firearms industry in general, it’s no secret that Aero Precision has had a rough go of it for the last two years. Long lead times and spotty fulfillment led many to wonder if the company had gone bankrupt or was going out of business altogether. (We are happy to report that they haven’t, and they aren’t.)
The situation came to a head this past May, when a Pierce County, Washington, court-appointed receivership was initiated.
Last week the company released an official statement on the matter, calling the last two years “challenging.” But the announcement also seems to indicate that the receivership has been resolved through sale to a new family investment group. The new owners are set to inject capital into the broader Aero Precision manufacturing operation and by all indications intend to return it to full strength.
Notably, they’ve chosen to keep the affected brands—pillars, in our view, of the custom firearm manufacturing space—intact and intend to forge a new path forward for the future. It’s good news for past and current users, but the company is the first to acknowledge this is only the beginning and there is still a lot of work to be done.
We view that as extremely good news, but then again we’ve always been fans and active purchasers and users of the product. Aero Precision was also one of the earliest supporters of the UN12 project, and we are looking forward to the reinvigoration of the company and brands involved, which include Aero Precision itself, Ballistic Advantage, VG6, and Stag Arms.
