Two instructors of the Babes with Bullets, women’s action shooting camps, sponsored by MGM Targets, are heading to Las Vegas to compete in the 3-Gun Nation Women’s Shoot-Off.
The 3-Gun Nation event, also affiliated with MGM Targets, will be held on Wednesday, January 16th at the Clark County Range near Las Vegas.
A total of four women have qualified for the shoot-off. One of the women who qualified was Kay Miculek, head instructor of the Babes with Bullets program, a 15 time USPSA National 3-Gun Champion. Another woman who qualified is Babes with Bullets junior instructor, Lena Miculek. The winner of this 3-Gun Nation Women’s Shoot-Off will receive a check for $5,000. “Lena and I are both very excited to be going to Vegas to compete in the 3-Gun Nation Shoot-Off”, says Kay. “I’m hoping for an all-Miculek final bout especially since we’ve both been practicing every day on the MGM plate racks at our home range.”
Although women currently represent a small portion of multi-gun competitors, the sports growing popularity has not been lost on Kay or Babes with Bullets camp director and multi-gun competitor, Deb Ferns. Says Ferns, “Our first multi-gun camp, held at the Brownell’s range in August, was a huge success. We added two additional 3-Gun camps to our 2013 schedule, which are already sold out with a waiting list. With the help of sponsors like MGM Targets we hope to continue increasing the opportunities for women to receive training in this growing segment of the Action Shooting Sports.”

The reason we train is because the moment you are forced to draw your weapon, two lives will certainly change forever. Today I drew my weapon on another human being for the first time and I am thankful that I was not forced to end his life. I am writing this shortly after the encounter as a way to process what happened. It may sound raw and unedited and that is fine. The following happened 2014-06-26 at approximately 11:30 AM.
