WALKER, Minn. (Feb. 28, 2022) — All shooters and hunters are aware they need the finest hearing protection available to help prevent hearing loss. For maximum protection and performance, nothing beats a custom-fit product like WildEar EarzON® Custom Hearing Protection. Each set is custom manufactured using digital technology to ensure all-day comfort and superior fit. Features include:
* Consistent protection: Because custom earplugs go in the ear just one way and are designed to fit the individual’s ear canal precisely, research studies show that actual protection in the real-world more closely matches laboratory-derived noise reduction predictions than other classes of earplugs.
* Durable, long-lasting: Unlike foam or even most pre-molded vinyl earplugs, customs are designed to survive for years. A set of custom earplugs can last many years due to the considerable strength and durability of materials.
* Fit for all: One clear advantage of custom hearing protection is that all sizes and shapes of ears can be accommodated, even when surgery, disease or injury has radically changed the characteristics of the outer ear.
There are multiple non-electric styles available — EarzON® Acrylic, EarzON® Soft Silicone, EarzON® Ultra-Soft Silicone, and EarzON® Filtered Acrylic and Silicone. The passive units feature a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 26dB. The Filtered Acrylic units feature a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) 11-19dB, with specially-designed acoustic filters that reduce sounds evenly across a wide frequency range. The filters allow you to turn down the volume (noise) without sacrificing listening quality.
In addition to the Custom Hearing Protection, each product includes a lanyard with clothing clip, zipper pouch, and one packet of Earset Gel for the initial break-in period. The suggested retail price for EarzON® Acrylic in blue, red, or black, and EarzON® Soft Silicone in orange, blue or black, is $99.50. The suggested retail price for EarzON® Ultra-Soft Silicone is $119.50 and they are available in orange/black and pink/black. The MSRP for EarzON® Filtered Acrylic is $134.50, or $136.50 for the unit with a toggle feature with Silicone Filtered pricing about $15 more.
A custom fit is achieved by providing WildEar with impressions of your ears. This can be done in two ways. Most audiologists can provide ear impression services for a one-time fee of around $30-$75. When making your appointment, you will need to explain to the provider that you have already purchased the custom product from WildEar. You are asking them to provide only an ear impression of each ear. Please print and take the Ear Impression Guide with you to your appointment. If you need help locating a qualified provider, go the the Wild Ear website at www.wildear.com. If you cannot find a local professional to take your ear impressions, you may be able to use the WildEar home fit kit. Please note that individuals with a history of ear surgery or ear problems such as pain, irritation, excessive earwax or infection, and those with allergies or sensitivity to silicone products should not attempt a home impression kit.
