ForgeLine Fieldwear: Rugged Gear for Chilly Days Ahead

As we begin the slow slide into autumn—with colder weather on the near horizon—ForgeLine Fieldwear, maker of rugged, field-ready apparel that’s been trusted by U.S. Special Operations forces for more than two decades, is expanding its Performance Fieldwear collection with new additions to its Utility Series.

The expansion for the fall season introduces insulated outerwear and next-to-skin merino base layers designed to extend the company’s layering system for colder weather.

The new-for-fall collection includes the Chief Peak Waxed Down Jacket and the PrimaLoft Gold–insulated Zaca Ridge Insulated Utility Jacket, both available for men and women, along with an expanded merino wool base layer system featuring a long-sleeve top for men and women and a men’s bottom.

Each piece is engineered to work with the others, providing comfortable warmth and adverse-weather protection without limiting mobility as temperatures and workloads shift.

According to ForgeLine owner Eric Neuron: “When we launched Performance Fieldwear this spring, we wanted to bring the same design philosophy behind our Operational Fieldwear to people who spend their lives working and recreating outdoors. This fall expansion adds to our system with insulated outer layers and merino baselayers that work together, giving people the warmth they need without limiting the mobility they depend on.”

The Fall 2026 Collection
Designed as an ideal midweight layer for changing conditions, the Zaca Ridge Insulated Utility Jacket is designed to bridge the gap between shirt and jacket. Ultra dry-waxed cotton helps it shrug off wind and light rain. Low-profile PrimaLoft Gold recycled insulation (60g body, 40g collar/sleeves) adds real warmth without adding extra bulk, while a drop-tail hem keeps coverage in place whether the wearer is moving, crouching, or seated.

The Zaca also features durable, repairable snap hardware throughout, meaning this jacket is built to be worn hard and fixed when components wear—not replaced. The jacket is made to wear like a shirt, work like a jacket, and, ForgeLine says, it doesn’t require a conversation about which one it is.

Zaca Ridge key features:

  • Center front snap closure—durable, repairable center build with embossed hardware
  • Dual-snap cuffs are adjustable for functionality
  • Stand-up collar that blocks wind without additional layering
  • Drop-tail hem for added coverage when moving, crouching, or seated
  • Women’s: Hand-warmer pockets with easy slide-in side entry, plus deep, zippered external top-entry pockets to securely stash items.
  • Men’s: Zippered hand and chest pockets—deep, functional, out of the way
  • Available in men’s and women’s sizing and styles

Next, every layering system needs to start with the right foundation. ForgeLine’s Cozy Dell Merino collection adds new long-sleeve tops and bottoms designed to regulate your temperature, manage moisture, and deliver next-to-skin comfort through changing conditions.

A blend of merino wool and recycled fibers is designed to handle all of the above, enabling functionality throughout all activities while the garments remain soft against the skin, durable where it counts, and quick to dry when the tasks ramp up.

Cozy Dell Merino key features:

  • Built to outlast the workload
  • Breathable and fast drying construction moves moisture away from skin quickly after hard output
  • Merino wool naturally suppresses odor for fewer washes
  • Comfortable wear—soft, no itch or scratch
  • Thermal regulation makes it warm when needed, cool when not, adapts through movement
  • Thumb holes designed to keep sleeves in place when layering or working (tops)
  • Debossed waistband with ForgeLine branding provides a secure, low-profile fit (bottoms)
  • Sizing: Tops are available in men’s and women’s sizes and styles
  • Sizing: Bottoms available in men’s sizing and styles

Launching November 2026
When temperatures really start to drop and changing weather becomes unpredictable, the Chief Peak Jacket is engineered for dependable insulation without sacrificing ruggedness or mobility. A durable cotton ripstop shell with a downproof, high-performance ultra dry-waxed finish keeps wind and weather out—and it’s reinforced with hexagonal ripstop at the shoulders and hood for added durability.

The Chief Peak’s baffled construction holds its 650-fill duck down in place to deliver proven warmth without excess weight, while an adjustable hood and hem seal out cold as conditions shift. A soft tricot chin-guard adds extra comfort where it counts. The result is a clean, functional design that promotes true comfort in the cold.

Chief Peak key features:

  • Adjustable hood and hem seal out cold when conditions go sideways or upways
  • Down bag baffles to keep feathers where they should be
  • Smooth nylon lining imparts no-drag layering
  • Soft tricot chin-guard for extra warmth
  • Zippered arm pocket provides quick, low-profile access to essentials
  • Zippered internal chest pocket for secure storage
  • Sizing: Available in men’s and women’s sizing and styles
  • Launching November 2026
