Terma and Lockheed Martin have signed an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity ID/IQ contract for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).
Eurosatory 2012, Paris – Terma and Lockheed Martin have signed an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity ID/IQ contract for Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). The contract, which will include engineering services and software licenses for BMD-Flex, marks the latest development in the six-year strategic cooperation between two companies.
BMD-Flex is an integrated command, control, and communication (C3) system for operational and tactical levels of command. It is built on the open and service-oriented architecture (OA, SOA) software platform, T-Core, developed by Terma and fielded in multiple C3 systems over the past 20 years. The flexible and modern design has allowed for integration of key Lockheed Martin components as well as third party components using an open business model.
BMD-Flex has been evaluated by Lockheed Martin through several technical deep dives, including NATO CWIX and U.S. CWID exercises, and has participated in the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Live Fire Test FTM-15 in 2011, where BMD-Flex obtained a U.S. Navy Authority To Operate in a live environment.
The majority of the work under this ID/IQ contract is planned to be performed by Terma North America out of its Huntsville, AL site supported by Terma in Denmark. The Terma Huntsville, AL site was established to support customers and partners in the U.S. market with subject matter expertise in the products and solutions being built by Terma.
Terma develops products and systems for defense, civilian authorities, and security applications, including command and control systems, radar systems, self-protection systems for aircraft, space technology, and advanced aerostructures for the aircraft industry. The company has a total staff of 1,100 and realized 2011/12 revenues of 248 MUSD.
Tema is headquartered at Aarhus, Denmark, and maintains international subsidiaries and operations in The Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, and the U.S.
