Useful for opening those endless streams of Amazon packages, the blade can be replaced with that of a standard box cutter, making it affordable to maintain its sharpness. German tool company Knipex makes top-tier tools, and these Cobra XS pliers are no exception. They’re compact, yet they can do the duty of tools triple their size. We’re big fans of these little pliers.

Our 2¢: SureFire’s latest pistol light is a perfect fit on compact pistols. Its 550-lumen output provides more than enough light for close- to medium-range work. It features ambidextrous switches that can be activated for momentary and constant-on uses. The switch can also be deactivated to prevent accidental operation. Utilizes one CR123A sized battery for 1.75 hours of continuous use.

Our 2¢: Slim, durable, and able to be mounted in a number of ways including on molle webbing, this battery storage tube keeps batteries close at hand when they’re needed most. It can also be repurposed to store anything you can fit in it—lip balm, matches, even candies. They’re useful enough that we have several attached to our plate carrier as well as our backpack.
