The Chiappa Rhino is one of the most singular revolver designs we’ve seen, with its unique silhouette, low low low barrel placement, and the fact that it fires from the bottom of the cylinder.
Chiappa Firearms has produced a version that functions as much as an art object as a gun—the Rhino Elite 60DS L Frame.
It’s an exclusive artistic evolution of the legendary Rhino platform. Limited to just 44 individually numbered pieces, each Elite model represents a fusion of innovative engineering, Italian industrial design, and contemporary graphic artistry.
The limited-edition revolver essentially elevates the Rhino platform from a high-performance firearm into a collectible work of art, combining both functionality and visual sophistication in a way that will appeal to serious shooters and discerning collectors alike.
The Rhino 44 Elite project enhances the revolver’s mechanical architecture through an integrated visual design inspired by the low-poly aesthetic. The hand-applied graphics are said to reinterpret its namesake’s textured skin and iconic Chiappa Rhino motif using polygonal shapes, softened to echo the patterning of the revolver’s distinctive barrel windows.

The effect is a modern, sculptural take on a classic revolver platform that emphasizes both strength and elegance. Each Elite model features a one-of-a-kind color combination, making each one a truly unique collectible, impossible to replicate.
The Elite series also represents a new benchmark in presentation. Each is housed in a bespoke display case meticulously machined from a solid block of aluminum, custom-painted to match the revolver’s color theme, and lined with premium Italian leather.
The case provides not only secure storage but a striking display option suitable for galleries, collectors’ rooms, or premium gun collections. Each Elite also includes a hand-signed certificate of authenticity, a custom display base, and a Rhino 44 patch, ensuring that every Elite revolver arrives as both a fully realized art piece and a high-performance firearm.
The Elite 60DS retains all the performance features for which the Rhino platform is known. Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, it features a 6-inch barrel, bottom-chamber firing geometry for reduced muzzle rise, a double/single-action trigger system, Hogue rubber-style Cerakoted aluminum grips, and fiber-optic front and rear sights.
The cylinder block, cylinder rotation lock, and hammer block ensure secure and reliable operation.
A California-legal single-action variant, the Rhino Elite 60 SAR–L Frame, is also available under SKU CF340.348, expanding the Elite line for collectors in restricted states.
As noted, with only 44 units produced worldwide, it’s a rare opportunity to own a revolver that combines functional excellence with striking, modern artistry, making it ideal for collectors seeking a firearm that stands out as both a mechanical marvel and a work of art.
If you can find one, the Elite carries a hefty MSRP approaching six grand. If you like the design, non-Elite models can be had for considerably less and are available in a variety of more traditional finishes (and a couple not so traditional).
What do you think, would you shoot it, or just sit it on a shelf and admire it?
