In UN12’s upcoming Issue 25, we take an in-depth look at Longshot Target Cameras and the company’s Marksman 300-yard unit.
The Marksman, and other Longshot cameras, is a remote camera you set up to point at your targets and it instantly transmits live video and images of your shoots directly to your smartphone or tablet.
Essentially, you get a front-row view of your target or targets and where you’re hitting instantly, without having to use a spotting scope or, worse, getting up from behind the gun and trekking out to the target to see where (and what) exactly you’re hitting.
While that’s cool in and of itself, what really makes the system work is the Longshot App, which offers functions like shot tracking and grouping, shot analysis, and a Selfie Cam that lets you see yourself superimposed on the target while you shoot.
Read all about it in Issue 25 on newsstands and available in digital later this month.
Now we’ve learned Longshot has released a major update to their app, which delivers a redesigned user interface, enhanced shot analysis tools, improved video streaming performance, and expanded customization options designed to improve the shooting experience.
Available for both iOS and Android devices, the latest update focuses on ease of use, faster navigation, improved reliability, and new features that help shooters get more value from every range session.
According to Longshot president Clay Rhoden: “Our goal has always been to help shooters spend more time shooting and less time managing equipment. This update reflects feedback from our customers and our commitment to continuously improving the user experience while providing shooters with tools that help them train more effectively.”
The updated app features a modernized interface that simplifies navigation and provides quicker access to key functions. Users will benefit from a cleaner layout, streamlined controls, and a more intuitive workflow while operating Longshot camera systems.
Among the most notable enhancements is an upgraded Blinker Shot Locator, which allows shooters to view an entire shot string, select individual impacts for playback, and analyze shot groups more effectively.
Longshot’s updated Measurements feature includes a redesigned interface that enables more precise point-of-aim placement and easier shot analysis. This enhancement helps shooters evaluate adjustments more efficiently and achieve an accurate zero in less time.
The update also expands one of our favorite features—the Selfie Cam—allowing users to resize and reposition the selfie overlay anywhere on the screen. Additional features include the ability to save screenshots directly to a device and export videos from shooting sessions for training review, competition analysis, or sharing with others.
Additional improvements include optimized camera discovery, increased streaming performance, and improved overall app stability. The enhancements build upon Longshot’s existing suite of features, including live target viewing, shot marking, group measurement tools, and zeroing assistance.
It’s worth noting that Longshot Cameras works closely with its customer community through its Advisor Program, which allows users to provide feedback and help shape future product development. Many of the features included in this update were developed in response to customer suggestions. So if you’re a current user of Longshot camera systems, congratulations.
