UN12 MAGAZINE MORALE PATCH
Morale patches have really taken ahold of the firearms community, no more so than to those who are tactically minded, and haven’t let go for an instant. These Velcro backed nuggets of witty sayings and clever designs can sometimes be the physical equivalent of memes that we view through our smartphone screens, only better because you can wear them on your hook and loop equipped clothing or slap them on your gear, or for many of us, collect and stick onto a wall mounted patch panel.
The origins of morale patches are said to find their roots in the military. From there, they have spread to all over and now grace everything from truck headliners to volumes of “patch books.” The wall mounted patch panel that you see here is an image that was sent to us by UN12 reader, John P. He says of his collection, “My obsession for morale patches have grown over the years and my collection now spans four panels and a couple of full shoeboxes. When possible, I try to trade other collectors for ones that I want.” We see a few sought after patches in his collection. How does your collection compare?
UN12 is proud to fuel the fire that drives patch enthusiast’s collections with our series of collaboration patches. Each issue of UN12 comes with a limited run, very collectible morale patch. Not only is each patch available in limited quantities; they are usually also each available in two color variants as well. Of those, one color is scarcer than the other. Our latest morale patch was made in collaboration with Aero Precision. Read more about this special patch in the sidebar. If you’d like to share your morale patch collection with us, tag us on Instagram at @un12mag.
The UN12 X Aero Precision ATLAS R-ONE morale patch comes in two limited edition colorways, black and foliage. (Which one did you get?) Made in conjunction with patch experts, Aprilla Design, the Aero Precision rifle depicted on the morale patch features their newest handguard offering, the ATLAS R-ONE. Like the ATLAS S-ONE that came before it, the ATLAS R-ONE is also equipped with their Aero Taper Lock Attachment System (ATLAS), is light in weight and offers an extremely small diameter. The main difference is that you’ll find a full length Picatinny rail on the ATLAS R-ONE. For more information on the Aero Precision ATALS R-ONE, visit aeroprecisionusa.com.
