The latest iteration of Springfield Armory’s Hellcat micro-compacts, Hellcat OSP .380, is engineered to deliver effective defensive performance while remaining exceptionally easy to conceal and supremely easy to control.
The Hellcat OSP .380 accepts a class-leading 11-round flush-fit magazine in its most compact form for an 11+1 capacity. It also includes a 13-round extended magazine for added versatility and a 13+1 working capacity.
What’s OSP? This Hellcat .380 is designed with an optics-ready slide that’s milled for direct mounting of today’s leading micro red-dot optics. No need to run a special adapter, just choose your red dot, mount it up and go.

The .380 chambering gives this Hellcat the benefit of imparting a softer shooting impulse compared to traditional 9×19. It’s also designed with slim, lightweight dimensions, so the Hellcat OSP .380 aims to deliver exceptional control and allow for effortless concealment—maybe your ideal conceal carry format.
Paired with modern defensive ammunition, the Hellcat OSP .380 will deliver reliable penetration and expansion to make it a potent personal-defense tool.
For targeting, a luminescent tritium front sight is paired with Springfield’s signature U-Notch rear—part of the “tactical rack” system—to provide a fast, positive sight picture, rapid target acquisition, and improved purchase when racking the slide.
The barrel is a 3-inch, 1:10 hammer-forged steel unit finished in a slick black Melonite finish. Springfield Armory calls it “unnaturally accurate” and purports to make the Hellcat an exceptionally straight-shooting concealment pistol.
Likewise, the super-slim slide is machined from billet steel and treated with black Melonite. The unique, high-traction serrations at the rear are extended up and over the optic cut’s cover plate if you prefer to run it without a red dot.

The recoil system is comprised of dual captive springs on a full-length guide rod. In keeping with its intended mission of the ideal conceal-carry Springfield, the Hellcat OSP .380’s overall length is just 6 inches, the grip width is 1 inch, and overall height is 4 inches when fitted with the flush magazine, 4.5 with the extended mag. The pistol weighs just 16 ounces empty.
Like other Hellcats, the Hellcat OSP .380’s polymer frame features Springfield Armory’s Adaptive Grip Texture for high traction where it counts and easy manipulation under pressure.
Adaptive Grip Texture comprises a pattern of staggered pyramid shapes. The taller pyramids are flattened on top to ensure carry comfort at the waistband and minimal wear on clothing. The shorter pyramids are pointed and lock into the user’s palms when the pistol is firmly gripped—thus the texture is, as they say, “pressure activated.”
With controllable .380 recoil and flat-shooting characteristics, the ease of mounting your favorite micro red dot, and dimensions that make it virtually disappear during EDC, the Hellcat OSP .380 might just be the ultimate Springfield Armory conceal-carry tool.
