If you’re like us, there probably isn’t a square inch of Velcro that’s safe from you slapping a morale patch on it. As you might have realized, we’re big into patches, to both collect and to trade. In fact, the ones that come with UN12 are quickly becoming collector’s items themselves. The major question for those of us who can’t get enough of these pint-sized embroidered and PVC works of art is where to display them.
Sure, we can display a collection of our favorites on flag-sized patch panels. We’ve filled a few of those already. (Do they make Velcro wallpaper?) How about patch books, you may ask. Well, we already have a bookshelf full of those filled. Where else can a patch-fiend display their patches?
We were presently surprised when we jumped into Alex Chan’s Toyota Tacoma and simply looked up. Yes, its headliner was canvased with morale patches, which is awe-inspiring for morale patch fans such as us. Looking around, we found quite a few highly sought-after patches as well as ones that we’ve never encountered before. Which ones would you like to trade him for?
Morale patches are fascinating to look at and oftentimes funny to read. Displaying them where many other people can enjoy them is a definite bonus in our book. Are there any unique places that you display your patch collection at? Show us by tagging us on Instagram @un12mag.
UN12 x SB Tactical
This issue’s exclusive UN12 x SB Tactical collaboration patch is available in two colorways, black and tan. Which color did you get? Designed to show off SB Tactical’s SBA3 AR pistol brace, the patch is an Aprilla Design original, featuring their distinctive cartoon-style artwork.
Back in 2012, USMC and Army vet Alex Bosco began developing the first pistol stabilizing brace prototype in his garage with the goal in assisting disabled combat veterans safely shoot PDW-style pistols. Following the success of the first prototypes and approval from the ATF, Bosco, along with Grant Shaw, formally founded SB Tactical and began designing and producing braces for AR and AK platforms.
Since then, SB Tactical’s braces have transformed the PDW pistol and in the process, awakened a demand for braces for all manners of pistols including ones produced by CZ, HK, SIG and others. Today, there are over twenty models of SB Tactical braces that can be applied to everything from PDW pistols to Mossberg’s Shockwave.
