Energy drinks in general have never really appealed to me and only in the most demanding of situations have I cracked a can of whatever caffeine-loaded drink happens to be in the local mini mart cooler at the moment. So it was with a bit of both intrigue as well as hesitance that I took on a test run of the new RuckPack Combat Nutrition energy/nutrition shot.
During a grueling yet productive week at the 2013 NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, I tried my first shot of this unique supplement during the 3-Gun Nation night-time competition. While I may have been able to attribute my mental awareness and vigor to the cold temperatures, I noted that I didn’t experience the caffeine-induced jitters that I usually do with the leading energy drinks on the market. Moreover, at the end of a non-stop 14-hour day, I didn’t experience the tiring crash that usually comes when the average energy supplement wears off.
No empty energy. No niacin flush. No shakes. No jolt. No crash. No nasty chemical aftertaste.
RuckPack focuses on attitude, sharp cognitive skills, strong bones, electrolyte charged bodies, good circulation, strong muscles, healthy joints, and a responsive immune system.
Vitamins: C, B6, B12, D3
Electrolytes: Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium
Branch Chained Amino Acids
Other: Theobromine, Chondroitin, Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Alpha-Glyceral Phosphoryl Choline (A-GPC)
At the end of that long week, we were faced with the task of undertaking the 20 hour drive home from Las Vegas. My turn to take the wheel began at midnight, which was already 10 hours into the overall trip, and I saw this as an opportunity to test RuckPack’s claim to heighten mental awareness naturally. At first the mix of vitamins and antioxidants didn’t seem to have any noticeable effect on me, I wasn’t experiencing any adverse physiological reaction like increased heart rate nor did I feel the rush of energy that I was expecting. As 0300 arrived and passed, however, it dawned on me that I was still entirely clear of mind and that I was experiencing what truly seemed to be a holistic boost in mental capacity, not just a synthetic rush of chemicals keeping me awake. After another hour and a half the weariness finally started to creep in and it was time to switch out with the next driver.
Upon arriving home from the journey, I immediately found myself under attack by a nasty case of the flu. I responded to this bio-attack by bolstering my immune system with an assortment of vitamins and a lot of rack time. After 2 days of misery, my fever final broke and I decided to try another Ruckpack. I had read through the ingredients and Nutritional Values of Ruckpack and I noticed that in a variety of instances, it actually offered the same amount of vitamin intake as my usual regimen calls for. Those vitamins coupled with an array of important minerals and antioxidants offered a natural alternative to most over-the-counter cold and flu solutions that only relieve the symptoms. So without having to resort to acetaminophen and harsh synthetics, I have been able to naturally work my way out of this flu season’s bombardment. As with many of society’s innovative technologies, Ruckpack has brought us another advancement that was born on the battlefield and has worked its way into our everyday lives.
RuckPack is the combination of an energy shot and nutritional supplement; defining a new category within the energy drink and sports energy drink markets – Peak Performance Nutrition.
The only nutritional shot created on the battlefield by Special Operations Forces Marines for the rigor of war, RuckPack is proven to sustain peak mental and physical performance.

In my pursuit to finish a Cross Machine & Tool (CMT) .308 build, I stumbled on JL Billet, a veteran owned and operated manufacturer based in San Diego, CA. They make some pretty killer looking stuff. Looks aside, I am always concerned with durability and quality, so I set out to put it to the test and share my first hand experience.
