Springfield Armory’s SA-35 gives today’s shooters a modern take on one of the most popular pistols in history.
Featuring subtle upgrades to the revered John Moses Browning “Hi-Power” design, the 9mm SA-35 gives users the nostalgic wood-and-steel presentation and feel from that early era of semi-automatic pistol manufacture.
This variation is complemented by a classic polished blued finish for a timeless look. Made in the USA, the SA-35 is honed from rugged forged-steel parts for high strength and great durability, with subtle ergonomic tweaks and enhanced controls from Springfield Armory.
It also features a factory-tuned trigger and improved feed ramp design for high performance and reliability, and an increased 15-round capacity from the included magazine (also supplied with a polished blued finish). The iron sights have been updated for the current day, with Springfield’s serrated Tactical Rack rear paired with a white-dot front.
The grip panels are finely checkered walnut that were selected for their attractive and classic woodgrain appeal, and because they nicely complement the blued finish on the forged carbon steel. It all makes for a package that hearkens to what some might call the golden era of pistolmaking, but looks entirely at home in the modern day.
The SA-35’s 4.7-inch barrel is cold hammer-forged with a 1:10 twist, and overall length sigs at just under eight inches. The pistol weighs a comfortable yet substantive 31.5 ounces.
As noted, the SA-35 ships with a single 15-round mag and a durable, double-zipper chase is included with each, whose soft-sided shell and integrated interior pouch protects the firearm and its attendant accessories during transport.
