NEW FROM GEMTECH®: MIST-22v integrally suppressed barrel designed specifically for the Smith & Wesson Victory pistol. Featuring a 3″ barrel, 9″ overall length, and patented G-Core technology, the Mist-22v transforms your Victory into a silent plinking machine.
Our modest beginnings start in the late 1960s with a novice physician named Phil Dater. Dr. Dater had a passion for playing with machine guns, and as most gun guys do, he became interested in silencers. With an inquisitive mind, weekend shifts as a diagnostic radiologist, and access to the machine shop in the basement of the hospital, Dater began to develop his own silencers.
Using the experience he learned from a newly purchased Ruger pistol, Dater built his first silenced gun under the license of a friend who was a Class 2 manufacturer.
Fast forward a few years to 1976 – Dater obtains his own manufacturers license and a lathe, commandeers some floor space in his garage and starts Automatic Weapons Company. As business increased, Dater and his small crew moved from Albuquerque to northern New Mexico, and later to Boise, Idaho. In 1993 he started Gemini Technologies (GEMTECH). Dr. Dater is rightly proud of his humble beginning that has, through dedication and hard work, become the leading silencer company in the world. Dater’s fingerprints are seen throughout the world of silencers to this day.
Mixing this old-school experience with modern CNC machines, honest business ethics, and a customer-first attitude, GEMTECH has grown year after year, proving itself over time while other companies with their “lifetime guarantees” came and went. We do our job quietly and do it well: Designing, testing, manufacturing, servicing, and selling best quality silencers and accessories available.
GEMTECH is in duty use around the world with many Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines of the United States military, Intelligence Community, Federal Law Enforcement, state and local peace officers, wildlife and agricultural agencies, friendly foreign military and police, and providing excellent service with tens of thousands of civilian shooters. We serve each part of our diverse client base to the best of our ability, and every day we come to work to serve people just like you.

I recently traveled to Bend, Oregon to compete at the Crimson Trace Midnight 3-Gun Invitational and report on the event for Guns & Tactics Magazine. It’s the only match of its kind, taking place on the Oregon high desert with competitors shooting in the dark of night into early morning using lights and lasers. It was an amazing experience and my first 3-gun match, ever.
