The Noveske Shooting Team is a 3-person team that travels the country to attend and compete in professional 3-gun events. The team is comprised of Rob Romero, James Casanova, and Jansen Jones.
In this video, Jansen tells us about how his own experiences at the Crimson Trace Midnight 3-Gun Invitational, and learning what lights and lasers can do for shooters. Last year was Jansen’s first time shooting a match with lights and lasers. He now employs a Crimson Trace Rail Master on his rifle and runs lights and lasers on his shotgun, too. The experiences gained from the M3GI give Jansen more confidence when shooting with lights and lasers.

Up until about a year ago, I exclusively used a Derlin action block much like the one seen here. Derlin blocks are useful but introduce other issues such as setup time, lining up pins, torque flex, etc. I often found the need to apply more than mil-spec torque to the barrel nut when installing a barrel and could visually see the upper flexing. It made be cringe but I didn’t know of any other option.
