Affordable, quality-built 1911s are a rare thing in today’s pistol market. Tisas has made a name for itself providing quality firearms in what the company calls an unrivaled value, and they have most lately built upon this directive with the release of Duty and Carry 1911 models for the coming year.
Hammer-forged barrels are standard on both pistols, 4.25 inches for Carry and 5 inches for Duty, but both now feature picatinny front rails, an extended slide stop, and a 1/3 fiber optic front sight.
“We had great success with our Duty and Carry models in 2024, so it made sense to continue to up the bar and enhance them for the user’s benefit,” says Chris DiCenso, Tisas USA CEO.
Both models are chambered for 9mm and both also feature a skeletonized hammer and trigger, a 4140 hammer-forged slide to go along with the barrel, Tenifer QPQ barrel coating, a direct-mount 507k and RMSc optic mount up top, a 25 LPI front-strap polymer grip module and flat main spring housing, and a beavertail grip safety. Both ship with two 17-round double-stack magazines.
