According to TOPS, when the original El Chete was released in 2017 it took off and immediately became one of the company’s top-selling models. There was something about the blade’s functionality, along with its aesthetics, that struck a chord with knife enthusiasts.

Reportedly, this Mini version entered the concept phase when TOPS personnel, in a fit of festive inspiration, were making Christmas ornaments for the holidays that were essentially shrunken-down versions of some of TOPS’s choicest full-size blades. A few of these miniaturized ornaments looked like they would translate well as actual, practical knives, albeit smaller than their full-size counterparts.

The rest is history.
Measuring around 8.75 inches overall, this new El Chete Mini is only “mini” compared to the original (which measures just shy of a foot and a half overall). The Mini features a blade that measures 5 and a half inches from tip to handle, and it features the same characteristic blade shape that made the original El Chete so popular.
The more diminutive size lends itself well for anyone who needs a practical blade for everyday carry.

Additionally, El Chete Mini features the same Midnight Bronze finish and the grip end is swathed in a green canvas Micarta handle. The included Kydex sheath makes it easy to carry El Chete Mini on your hip as an EDC blade.
(TOPS says you’ll find yourself looking for reasons to show this knife off once you get it.)
