EOtech has long been a brand trusted by shooters who demand reliability, optical clarity, and innovation. With the release of the Vudu 3-9×32 Second Focal Plane riflescope, EOtech once again pushes boundaries—this time by compressing the capabilities of a traditional variable optic into a surprisingly compact footprint.
The 3-9x magnification range is hardly new—optics with this range have been staples of the rifle world for decades. But the Vudu 3-9×32 is anything but a traditional scope. EOtech has managed to pack the features of a full-size variable optic into a housing not much larger than one of their iconic holographic sights.
This reduced size opens up a lot of possibilities. It’s an ideal fit for rifles with limited rail space, such as PCCs, short-barreled rifles, or modern lever guns. It also makes a strong case for those who typically run a red dot and magnifier combo—offering comparable capability in a single, streamlined unit.
The optic uses a 30mm main tube and is built around an aircraft-grade aluminum body. At just 9.1 inches long and weighing in at 17.8 ounces, it’s close in size to an ACOG and noticeably shorter than many other LPVOs or traditional 3-9x scopes. But the performance isn’t scaled down.
EOtech equips this scope with the HC1 reticle—a simple, effective MOA-based hashmark design in the second focal plane. The red-illuminated reticle is daylight bright, with 10 brightness settings, powered by a CR2032 battery and backed up with a 6-hour auto shut-off feature.
One of the most practical aspects of the Vudu 3-9x is how crisp and bright the sight picture is. The XC high-density glass offers impressive clarity, even at full magnification.
Windage and elevation adjustments are capped, and the ¼ MOA clicks are positive and repeatable, with a total of 100 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment available. The fast-focus eyepiece and generous 3.6–3.9 inches of eye relief help maintain situational awareness and ease of use, even in unconventional shooting positions.
EOtech also offers an optional bundle that includes their EFLX mini red dot sight and a piggyback ring mount. This pairing further extends the optic’s versatility, offering a rapid transition option for close-range shooting without needing to offset your primary optic or add a secondary mount.
Some shooters may wish the scope came in a first focal plane configuration, especially those who prefer reticle subtensions that scale with magnification. But for its intended use and size class, the second focal plane HC1 reticle remains intuitive and easy to use for holdovers and range estimation.
In our hands-on testing, the Vudu 3-9×32 delivered reliable performance with a surprisingly compact footprint. It’s an optic that broadens the application of variable magnification glass to platforms where space, weight, or balance are concerns.
Whether you’re outfitting a minimalist recce rifle, a lightweight hunting rig, or an urban patrol carbine, the Vudu 3-9×32 brings more capability to the table than its small size suggests.
It’s not often that a 3-9x scope catches our attention in 2025, but this one did—and held it.
