NEWTOWN, Conn. (gunsandtactics.com) – The Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show® (SHOT Show®) has been cited as one of the Top 25 fast-growing trade shows based on attendance growth by a leading industry trade publication–a recognition that will surprise few who have attended the record-breaking SHOT Shows in Las Vegas in recent years.
The SHOT Show is owned by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms and ammunition industry, and is managed by Reed Exhibitions, producers of the SHOT Show since 1979.
The high honor announced by the Trade Show News Network (TSNN) places the SHOT Show in elite company with other major trade shows on the list, including the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and the JCK (jewelry) Las Vegas show.
“We are thrilled that our industry’s trade show, the SHOT Show, continues to grow and be recognized with the best and fastest-growing shows in North America,” said Chris Dolnack, NSSF’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “This honor is shared by all the talented people who work on the show, and it arrives as the SHOT Show heads into its milestone thirty-fifth anniversary event in January.”
Ed Several, Reed Exhibitions’ senior vice president, said, “The SHOT Show continues to be a standout in its class, and this honor is testament to the outstanding and longstanding partnership between NSSF and Reed Exhibitions.”
The “fastest-growing” designation was based on shows from 2009 through 2011, according to TSNN. “During some of the most challenging years in the trade show industry, the 2012 TSNN Top 50 Fastest-growing Trade Show winners not only managed to thrive, but also by very impressive numbers,” said TSNN President and Editor-in-Chief Rachel Wimberly.
The SHOT Show will be honored at the 3rd Annual TSNN Awards: Celebrating Trade Show Excellence November 2-4 in Louisville, Ky.
